about
My new single What If is raising money and awareness for prison music outreach charity Sing Inside. The track is priced at £2.90, but if you are able to donate anymore for it, that is hugely appreciated.
Taking singing workshops into local prisons with charity Sing Inside was one of the most rewarding parts of my life while living in Cambridge, and my song What If was inspired partly by the joy and hope music can bring to people's lives and partly by the frustrations of working in a prison system lacking focus on rehabilitation. It is more vital now than ever to support this important community work, so all money from this release will go straight to help Sing Inside and the amazing work this charity does.
My heart goes out to the family and friends of Jack and Saskia, and to everyone affected by the events at Fishmongers' Hall on London Bridge. I think we owe it to them to continue to support the cause they so strongly believed in, and focus not on hate but on love, hope and humanity.
lyrics
See the writing on the wall
It didn't get there by mistake
You won't hear these things on the outside
Cause faith's an easy thing to break
And oh, what if the time
Had flown by a little differently
And oh, what if a life
Was given the chance it needs
There are voices still unheard
And there are stories left untold
They are shut inside a chest of drawers
To gather dust as they grow old
And oh, what if the time
Had flown by a little differently
And oh, what if a life
Was given the chance it needs
There are lessons to be learned
By those outside as well as in
What's the use in second chances
If you didn't get one to begin?
And oh, what if the time
Had flown by a little differently
And oh, what if a life
Was given the chance it needs
Was given the chance it needs

Unbound speaks healing words, but the music feels like healing, very special and moving but so simple. Just a guitar and a piano. I'm sure the glitter and ambience she put in the vinyl helps! <3 shadyneutron

Just getting back into folk music. In my folking days it was Nic Jones, Martin Carthy, Dick Gaughan, the Dansfields etc., and I was afraid there wouldn't be anything as good around today. I was wrong. This is beautiful and stands with the best. Del Buck
